Police arrested two alleged drug traders and recovered 57 kg hemp from Karwan Bazar slum on in the capital Tuesday night, reports UNB.
The arrestees are Mahmudur Rahman alias Mahbub, 34, and Md Saddam, 18.
Based on secret information, a special team of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station in the capital conducted a raid on the shanty of alleged drug ringleader Parvin at the slum by the rail tracks around 8pm, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masudur Rahman.
During the drive, police found that the duo had been keeping hemp-laden polythene packets inside a plastic sack.
Later, they arrested them and recovered 57 kg hemp from their possesion , the Deputy Commissioner said.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees reveled that Parvin was the owner of the seized hemp. A case was filed in this connection.
