Tamim returns to practice session

Bangladesh team management heaved a huge sigh of relief as the country’s best batsman Tamim Iqbal returned to the practice session after recovering from his injury.

Although Tamim didn’t play the warm-up game against South Africa Invitational XI yesterday, he practiced without any problem. After the practice he was seen jogging with fitness trainer Mario Villavarayen and physio Thihan Chandramohan.

Tamim suffered a muscle strain injury during the three-day practice game ahead of the Test series in Benoni. Braving the injury, he played the first Test and scored 39 and 0 before being the pain forced him being ruled out from the second Test.

However he is determined to make a comeback in the ODI series given the vulnerable batting showed by the batsmen in the Test series.

“He has just started practice session and felt no pain. He is determined to make him available in the ODI series. Hopefully we’ll get him from the first ODI,” said team manager and chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu.

Tamim has been the highest run-getter of Bangladesh in the all three format of the game.
