Yunnan launches open university Confucius classroom

Recently, the Open University of Yunnan, in association with five colleges in Qujing, jointly held a Confucius Classroom launch ceremony in Kunming.

In order to promote traditional Chinese culture, the China Confucius Foundation introduced the ‘Confucius Classroom public service project’ in early 2014. The Open University of Yunnan has combined online and offline teaching to promote Chinese language and culture. Last year, the institution applied to the China Confucius Foundation to establish a Confucius Classroom. The application was approved. In January of this year, Open University of Yunnan officially received a plaque of Confucius from the foundation.

The Confucius Classroom of the Open University of Yunnan is currently offering courses in taiqi, tea-making and other disciplines. Now students at the university read traditional Chinese classics aloud in the morning every Monday through Friday.
