Two minor babies drown

RANGPUR: Two minor babies drowned in a pond in Bahar Kachhna area under Ward No-9 of the city here this afternoon, police and local sources said, reports BSS.

"The victims Sohat, 3, son of businessman Mizanur Rahman and Zim, 3, son of Mojnu Mian of the same area," local City Councilor of Ward No-9 Nazrul Islam Dewani told BSS yesterday evening. Police said both the babies went missing since this noon after coming out of their respective houses beyond the knowledge of their parents for playing. “But, they drowned in the nearby pond and local people recovered their floating bodies in the afternoon,” said Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Kotwali Thana Azizul Islam.
