BSPA motivates hockey team do well in Asia Cup

Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) hosted a get together yesterday for the former national hockey stars of the 1985 Asia Cup hockey team and organisers with the players of the current national team, who are getting ready to play the Asia Cup Hockey 2017 to start from October 11.

The function was held yesterday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) auditorium when some of the stars of the national team of 1985 attended along with their successors of 2017 team, ready to begin their Asia Cup mission.

Shahbuddin Chakladar, the proud captain of the Bangladesh national hockey team in 1985, Abdus Sadeque, general secretary of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF), Pratap Sankar Hazra, former national star, members of the ’85 teams including Alamgir Chunnu, Osman Gani, Jamil Pervej Lulu and Abdullah Piru were present in the occasion.

Shabuddin Chakladar in his speech tried to inspire the present teams’ member and the coach Mahbub Harun, when he also recollected some of his memories of the 1985.

Chakladar said, “We had team spirit, this is my ground, this is my crowd, who ever will come, we will have to win.”
