Admission tests for the first year honours courses of Jahangirngar University (JU) under academic sessions 2017-18 will begin today which will continue till October 17.
A total of 151 candidates will vie for each seat in this year.
Sources of the Admission Management Committee said, a total of 2,99,171 students will going to vie against 1986 seats under 6 Faculties and 3 Institutes in this year breaking all previous records. Among the faculties, the largest numbers of applications have been submitted in the Unit D under Biological Science Faculty while Institute of Information and Technology gets largest number of applications among the institutes in this year. The schedule of the admission tests are – Unit A on October 8 and 9, Unit I on October 9, Unit D on Oct 10 and 11, Unit C on 12, Unit B and G on 15, Unit E and H on 16 and Unit F on October 17. Earlier, online registration processes for the entry tests was concluded on September 30 that was started on August 21.
The detailed information about seat plans and results will be available on JU official website www.juniv.edu. Meanwhile, a mobile court will set up on the campus for the first time to prevent forgery in the tests, JU Proctor Professor Dr Tapan Kumar Saha confirmed The Independent yesterday.
