Bangladesh Awami League arranged a daylong art camp titled ‘Rangtulite Shokgatha’ on August 12 at the Bangabandhu Smriti Jadughar in the capital’s Dhanmondi area to observe the 40th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. About 56 artists participated in the camp. The participating artists were Mustafa Manowar, Samarjit Roy Choudhury, Abul Barq Alvi, Monirul Islam, Nisar Hossain, Abdul Mannan, Biren Shome, Shahabuddin Ahamed, Sheikh Afzal, Bipasha Hayat, Bishwajit Goswami, Jamal Ahamed, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Ashok Karmakar, Helal Uddin Sarkar and others. It involved several paintings of Bangabandu. There were about 54 piantings.
The artists focused on Bangabandhu’s life and contributions. Artist Mustafa Manowar said, “Bangabandhu’s image is painted in our hearts and that has been expressed and portrayed on the canvas. The eternal spirit on Bangabandhu has been reflected on the canvas. This will certainly inspire the new up and coming artists as well.”
Bangladesh Awami League’s joint secretary Mahabub Alam Hanif and organising secretaries Ahmmad Hossain, A F M Bahauddin Nasim, lawmaker Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury were also present at the camp.
