Shakib appointed member of MCC’s World Cricket Committee

Bangladesh iconic cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has been appointed as a member of the prestigious World Cricket Committee by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). The news was announced by the all-rounder, who posting the induction letter on his official Facebook page. Besides Shakib, the other members of the committee are: Mike Gatting (chairman), Ramiz Raja, Sourav Ganguly, Charlotte Edwards, Vintcent Van der Bijl, Jimmy Adams, Rod Marsh, Tim May, Brendon McCullum, Kumar Sangakkara, Ricky Ponting, Ian Bishop, Kumar Dharmasena and Suzie Bates.

The MCC, founded in 1877 and the sole authority to change the rules of cricket. Shakib, while posting the news, stated: “I truly feel humbled that you have chosen me to be a member of the Prestigious MCC World Cricket Committee. Thank you for bestowing me with such an honour.”

Shakib’s stellar form has also seen him hold on to the No 1 spot in ICC rankings across the three formats. He is now just 18 wickets away from reaching the 500-mark in international cricket and is just 215 runs away from reaching 10,000 international runs.
