Stocks ended the week yesterday upward with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher transactions, reports BSS. The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 109.47 points up at 6,202.31. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 4.05 points up at 1,349.91 and with 23.82 points up at 2,201.43. Out of the 334 issues traded on DSE, 172 gained against 137 losing issues.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 33.20 per cent up at Tk 917.52 crore and the trade volume was 37.9 per cent up at 31 crore shares. The top five gainers of the week were Sonar Bangla Insurance, Dhaka Bank, Trust Bank, Prime Insurance and Takaful Insurance. The major losing issues of the week were Northern, Fine Foods, Imam Button, Hakkani Pulp and Modern Dying.
The top five turnover leaders were Exim Bank, Aamra Net, Islami Bank, Primer Bank and Lanka Bangla Finance.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 415.21 points higher at 19,296.81.
