Ahead of Zimbabwe national team’s tour to Dhaka in January, Bangladesh-A team will go for a month-long tour in Africa on October 15.
The visiting team will play three one day and two four-dayers in Zimbabwe. But they will leave Dhaka for Johannesburg in South Africa in an unofficial tour before the series against Zimbabwe.
The tourists will play a 3-dayer alongside two one day matches against the Proteas.
Bangladesh national team will start their training camp for the upcoming Test series against Australia from August 22 following the half-month vacation.
It is known that the selector may announce a 24-26 members preliminary squad for the series. They will announce the 15-member final squad for the forthcoming home series one month after the camp. Thereafter, Bangladesh-A team will be formed by the drop-out players alongside the academy players.
Acknowledging the matter of these tours, Jalal Younus said that the series against Zimbabwe was schedule but they managed the other
series against South Africa by discussion.
“Series against Zimbabwe was planned but the second series with South Africa has been managed through discussion,” said Jalal Younus, chairman of BCB media committee.
“Virtually we have no Bangladesh-A team. It will be formed by the combination of academy and national discarded players. It will be announced by the selectors in the next month,” Jalal, who is also board director, told The Independent.
On the other hand, the newly-revived High Performance (HP) team is expected to tour in Bangalore, India in September.
During the tour, they will play two one dayers, two Twenty20s and two 90-over matches against the host side.
As part of preparation, the HP team will play three
practice matches. Already they played the first match on August 12 at BKSP Ground-4. The rest of the matches will be played on August 17 and 19 respectively at the same venue.
About the India tour, Nazmul Abedin Fahim said that they have discussed but the schedule has yet to be fixed.
