DU launches IT management course for professionals

Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University (DU) yesterday launched a new course titled ‘Advanced Certificate for Management Professionals (ACMP)’ for developing skills of midlevel officials of information technology (IT) sector.

DU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the course at a programme at IBA auditorium yesterday morning.

Under the course, about 500 IT and ITES professionals will be provided with training on business analytics, cyber security, project and people management, business and customer management, business communication, finance, accounting and strategic management.

IBA Director Professor Dr AKM Saiful Majid presided over the ceremony while Additional Secretary of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Md Rashadul Islam attended it as the special guest.

Project Director of Leveraging ICT for growth, employment and governance (LICT) project Md Rezaul Karim gave the welcome speech at the function.

Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Executive Director Swapan Kumar Sarker, LICT project Management Specialist Sarker Abul Kalam Azad, LICT component team leader Sami Ahmed, Communication Specialist Ajit Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of BBA programme Professor Dr Md Ridhwanul Haq were present at the function, among others.

North South University meeting held

The 56th meeting of the North South University (NSU) Syndicate Committee was held at the university syndicate hall at Bashundhara in the capital on Tuesday, says a press release.

 Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice-chancellor, NSU chaired the meeting while representatives from Education Ministry, University Grand Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) and members of the Board of Trustees discussed on different agenda. Multiple academic decisions were formulated in the meeting.

The Pro-vice-chancellor Professor Dr Gias U Ahsan, Treasurer Professor Dr Gour Gabinda Goswami and Registrar Mohammad Shahjahan were present in the meeting.

Freshers orientation of Fall - 2017 held at Hamdard University Bangladesh

Hamdard University Bangladesh organised a freshers orientation programme on Wednesday for the newly admitted students of Fall 2017 on its permanent campus at Hamdard Bigayan Nagar, Gazaria, Munshiganj, says a press release.

The founder and chief patron of Hamdard University Bangladesh Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees and Dean of the Faculty of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine  Prof Dr A K Azad Khan was the special guest. Vice -chancellor of the University Prof Md Abdul Mannan, PhD presided over the programme while members of the Board of Trustees Prof Hakim Shiry Farhad, Lt.
