Mentioning that Bangladesh has given shelter to Rohingyas on humanitarian grounds, Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya yesterday said Myanmar must take back its citizens, reports UNB. “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given shelter to the Rohingyas fleeing torture and persecution by Myanmar government on humanitarian grounds. Myanmar must take back its nationals,” he said.
The minister was speaking at a meeting held in the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner’s Office in Cox’s Bazar, said a PID handout. He said Bangladesh has ensured all facilities, including medical services, sewerage and safe and fresh water, for the Rohingya people in refugee camps.
Maya said the Kutupalong Rohingya Camp has been divided into 20 blocks and an officer has been appointed for each block for overall monitoring.
