Youth ‘abducts housewife killing’ her father

Pabna: A young man allegedly abducted a housewife after killing her father at Daspara village in Bera upazila yesterday, reports UNB.

Quoting family members, police said Sabuj Hossain, son of Asan Sheikh, used to harass Maria Khatun, 22, wife of an expatriate, who used to reside at the house of her father Moazzem Sheikh.

On Tuesday morning, Sabuj swooped on the house of Moazzem and tried to take his daughter away with him, triggering an altercation.

At one stage, the youth hit Moazzem with a sharp weapon and abducted the young housewife, leaving him dead on the spot.

He also hit Hasna Begum, a neighbour of Moazzem, as she tried to prevent him from taking away Maria, leaving her injured.

The injured was taken to Pabna General Hospital.
