Every match is challenging
for Bangladesh: Mash

Bangladesh one-day captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza did not keep his pace with the critics after the end of the 333-run loss in the opening Test against South Africa but he eulogizes his long-time teammate Mushfiqur Rahim and company for their positive attitude what they exposed till the fourth day to make the draw.

Mashrafe describes the fifth and last day of the opening Test as worse day for Tigers, stating that the batsmen who were set in the wicket if they could build a couple of partnerships, it would then be different story.

“It deems to me that it has been a bad day. You will understand if you go there in South Africa how much tough its condition is for us. The wicket we expected that was better than it. It’s true,” said Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who will board on flight for South Africa with Shakib Al Hasan, Nasir Hossain along with Nurul Hasan Sohan on October 8/9.

“When South African bowlers bowl as per their capability the act of our batsmen is not so easy for them. At one stage, some of our batsmen set in the first innings unfortunately they could not build any more big partnership. If they could do it would be better for us,” Mashrafe told media while he was distributing prize among the best employees of a mobile company in the capital yesterday.

“And it comes abruptly in cricket what is happened on Monday at the time of second innings. Of course, it is disappointing. It is more disappointing for those who played the Test,” he added. The 32-year-old captain said that they all should inspire them forgetting the mistakes of the last Test.

“I think that we should forget all those mistakes they did in the last Test. Those who are outside of the team inspire them so that they could come back and play better cricket in the next Test match,” Mashrafe, dubbed Narail Express, said.

“All the cricket-fans are looked at the last Test match. So, that match is very good important. Therefore we’ve one-day and T20 series, wherein there are different challenges for us. It’ll not be right to say which will be advantageous for us. But if we could play the Test match well, the latter will then be easier for us,” the Narail Express thought. The right-handed fast-bowler said that more challenges lie ahead of them. And so they should face the challenge step by step.

“Challenge is  everywhere. Actually there is no ending of challenge. Now we will play the second Test that’s also challenging for us. I saw Faf du Plessis who is seeking more bouncy wickets. So, there will be more challenge ahead of us,” Mashrafe, who hones his skills by playing the initial two round games of the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL) before taking off for South Africa.

“Thereafter, we don’t know what types of wickets will be built for one-day series. South Africa normally builds their wickets for 350-370 runs that is also challenging for us. It’s not that we could be put on 370 on easy track. So there will be different challenges for us ahead,” he also said.
