Indian team to join CPA confce

A large delegation comprising Indian MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will join the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) to be held here on November 1-8 next, repots UNB.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said this when she met Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Speaker and also Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's (CPA) executive committee Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at a meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 8th Conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians, said a handout here on Tuesday. Sumitra praised Bangladesh for arranging the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly successfully early this year.

"Bangladesh has proved its ability by holding the IPU assembly successfully," she added.
