Sarkar Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury has been made acting secretary of Finance Division under the finance ministry.
An official of the Audit and Accounts Cadre of the BCS 1984 batch, Chowdhury had been serving as the additional secretary of the same division, according to a ministry press release.
Chowdhury obtained post graduate degree in accounting from the university of Chittagong and later received MSc in finance from Birmingham University of the United Kingdom.
He is one of the exponents of Public Private Partnership and was involved in reformation of the budget and financial sector, implementation of IBAS++, and the simplification of pension process for government employees.
He was also associated with the Board of Directors of various banks and financial institutions like Sonali Bank, Krishi Bank, SDF, managing director and CEO of BIFFL, Director of the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Eastern Refinery Limited as well as also worked as Dhaka BRT Company.
