The export-import activities between Bangladesh and India through Benapole land port resumed yesterday, after a six-day vacation, reports UNB.
Trucks carrying imported goods started entering Benapole from India from 8am.
Aminul Islam, acting director (traffic), of Benapole port authority, said the export-import activities through the port had remained suspended due to Ashura and Durga Puja vacations for five days from September 27 to October 1.
Besides, the port activities on the Indian side remained closed on October 2, marking Mahatma Gandhi’s 148th birth anniversary.
“The official activities in every section of the customs house resumed this morning,” the official added.
