Snake charmer hacked dead
A snake charmer was hacked to death by miscreants at a Bedey Palli in Porabari area on Monday night.
Police said miscreants attacked Sohel Hossain, son of Nur Hossain, around 7pm and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Police suspect that Sohel might have been killed over previous enmity.
Minor siblings drown
Two minor siblings drowned in a canal at Choto Khurma village in Sylhet district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Rohan Ahmed, 12 and Redwan Ahmed, 8, sons of Ezzad Ali of the village.
Mahbub Hossain Masum, a cousin of the victims said, Rohan and Redwan slipped into a canal near the home while they were playing on a roadside of the canal.
Later locals rescued them from the canal and sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital where doctor declare them death.
Man killed in road accident
A pedestrian was crushed under a bus on Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Motai Miah, 55, resident of the village. Abdur Rahman, in-charge of Goplar Bazar Police investigation camp, said that the Sylhet-bound Sagorika Paribahan bus hit him while he was crossing the highway beside his house around 10am, leaving him dead on the man.
Later, the angry villagers blocked the highway for one and half hour which halted vehicular movement.
