AL distributes 100 cattle in Gazipur

The city unit of Awami League has distributed more than 100 cattle among the leaders and activists  of the party’s different units in the city to check extortion  in the name of holding the National Mourning Day  programme. Leaders of the AL city unit distributed the cattle at a preparatory programme for observing the National Mourning Day in Malekerbari area of the city on Friday morning. Liberation War Affairs Minister advocate AKM Mozammel Haque was chief guest at the programme while president of Gazipur city AL Advocate Azmot Ullah Khan presided over it. General Secretary of Gazipur city AL Mohmmed Jahangir Alam, former president of Gazipur Bar Association Advocate Wazuddin Miah and Mohammed Mohiuddin addressed the programme, among others. Fifty-seven cattle were distributed for 57 wards in Gazipur city while rest of the cattle were distributed for different units. Mohmmed Jahangir Alam said, “We have taken the initiative to stop the trend of extortion ahead of the National Mourning Day programme. Activists of different units easily can observe the day without collecting money from others.
