Man held with yaba tablets
Police in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler and seized 39,000 yaba tablets from BK Das Road in Old Dhaka on Thursday night. The arrestee was Sabbir Hossain alias Sabbir. Talking to The Independent, Deputy Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Media and Public Relation) Muntasirul Islam Rony confirmed the news. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Wari Division Sayed Nurul Islam said on getting secret information, a team of Sutrapur police, led by Inspector Khalilur Rahman Patowari, conducted a drive in front of the Farashganj Bibika Mazar near BK Das Road around 10:30 pm on Thursday. During preliminary interrogation, Sabbir confessed that he was involved in the illegal drug peddling for long time. A case was filed in this connection.
