An accused has given statement confessing to his involvement in shooting trader Nurul Islam to death in a bus on August 3. The accused identified as Nadim, 30, son of Abdus Sattar, a resident of Dhalpur area in the capital, made the confession in a statement before the Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Narayanganj yesterday. He is an employee of a hotel in Mahmudpur area on the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road. Senior Judicial Magistrate Monoara Begum recorded the confessional statement, court Sub-inspector Sohel Alam confirmed. Trader Nurul Islam was gunned down by miscreants in a Narayanganj-bound ‘Utsab Paribahan’ at Mahmudpur at 10pm on August 3. Sabina Yasmin, wife of the deceased, filed a murder case with Fatulla police station in this connection. Police have so far arrested ten accused in the murder incident.
