Zero pass rate in HSC

Barisal Education Board (BEB) has issued show cause notice to five institutions under the board for their zero pass percentage in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate examination results. In the notice, the board authorities have asked to know from them why HSC level classes in the institutions should not be cancelled. The institutions also have been asked to give reply within seven days after receiving the notice, the BEB official said. Dr. Liakat Hossain, inspector of (colleges) BEB, said the decision was taken on Wednesday and the notice was sent to the institutions on Thursday. After receiving answer to show cause notice from those institutions, final decision whether to permanently cancel HSC classes in those institutions would be taken if they fail to give any satisfactory reply, Prof Ziaul Huq, chairman BEB, said.
The five institutions which have received  the show cause notice are Chandkhali Secondary School and College of Betagi with nine examinees, Kakchira Secondary School and College of Patharghata with 16 examinees under Barguna district, Nasima Keramot Ali School and Mohila College of Dumki with 26 examinees, Majidbaria College of Mirganj with seven examinees under Patuakhali district and Behari Pilot School and College of Bhandaria with five examinees under Pirojpur district.
The five institutions were given prior notice that permission of classes would be cancelled if they fail to receive sent-percent pass rate. Except Nasima Keramot Ali School and Mohila College,  four other institutions also failed to register under online system and all of them gave written bond about achieving cent percent pass rate, said Muhammad Shah Alamgir, BEB controller (Examinations).
