US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Edward M Kennedy Centre for Public Service and the Arts (EMK Centre) yesterday evening, reports BSS.
Supporters and partners from academia, arts, business, civil society, the diplomatic community, and alumni of U.S. Department of State exchange programmes joined the Ambassador in the celebration, according to a US embassy statement issued today.
“The EMK center opened in September 2012 with the mission to engage, inspire, connect and empower Bangladeshis of all ages to better themselves, their communities and our world,” the statement said, adding since its inauguration more than 320,000 visitors have visited the EMK Centre to create, innovate and collaborate through technology, cultural performances and exhibitions, workshops, and learning experiences of all kinds.
