Child of third grade �raped�

A case was filed on Wednesday with the Joydevpur Police Station alleging rape of a girl, a student of class 3, by a youth in Gazipur city on August 07.
The victim’s father, Babul Miah, filed a written complaint with the police as the girl fell ill and was admitted to Gazipur Shahid Taz Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.
Victim’s father, hailing from Nandail upazila of Mymensing, works as a mason’s helper and his wife is a housemaid. The couple, along with their daughter, is living in a rented house owned by Suruz Miah at Chapolia in Gazipur city for the last two years.
Babul, in his complaint, claimed that on august 07, Ratin Khan, a son of house owner Suruz Miah, raped their daughter at a room in their house after the couple went out for work. Ratin also threatened the girl not to tell anyone about the incident. But the child informed this to her mother and later, the matter was taken to the landlord and neighbours. The landlord then assured to settle the matter mutually, but even after six days, they did not do anything about it. Moreover, the house owner is threatening the victim’s family members in different ways, he alleged. As their daughter fell ill, they admitted her to the hospital on Wednesday night and filed a written complaint over the matter with Joydebpur police, Babul Miah said.

The resident medical officer of the hospital Abdus Salam Sarker said they have completed primary tests on the victim yesterday, and the reports will be available on Sunday.
Officer In-charge of Joydebpur Police Station Khandaker Rezaul Hasan said, the victim has told them that she was raped. But it can only be said with certainty after getting the medical examination reports from the hospital, he added.
