Law enforcers have arrested two people from the capital in connection with the murder of blogger  Niladri Chatterjee, known popularly as Niloy Neel. The arrestees were identified as Sad Al Nahian and Masud Rana, suspected members of banned Islamist militant outfit Ansarrullah Bangla Team (ABT). They were arrested from Uttara and Mirpur areas of the capital, said police. Detainee Sad Al Nahian is a Dhaka University student amd a niece of State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu,
Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muntasirul Islam told The Independent yesterday that they were questioning several people over the murder incident. Talking to The Independent yesterday  around 7:30pm, State Minister Chunnu said the investigators called Nahian to their office and they are questioning his nephew by keeping him in custody. Nahin was earlier arrested once in connection with the murder attempt on blogger Asif Mohiuddin and gave confessional statement. Spending a year in jail, he was released last year and again got involved in militancy, said sources. During his interrogation, he described details about his involvement with the ABT, they said. The ABT is thought to be behind a number of attacks and murders of bloggers from 2013 to 2015 and a bank heist in April 2015. The party was outlawed by the government on May 25 this year, a few days after the bank robbery.
Nahin was living at a rented house at Kafrul in the capital. His father Nannu is a teacher and a former chairman of Dahia Union Parishad of Tarail Upazila in Kishoreganj.
Sources said, after taking admission in the Marketing Department of Dhaka University, Nahin joined the Ansarullah Bangla Team through its members Kawser Hossain, Kamal Hossain, Kamal Sarder and Nabi Hossain. Later, he became close with Abdul Karim alias Jaber, a key-suspect in Niloy murder and a former student of Arabic Department of the same university.
Along with Jaber, he met detained ABT chief Mufti Jashim Uddin and his close aid Reazonal Azad Rana a number of times.
Blogger Niloy Neel was hacked to death by a group of unidentified assailants on Friday afternoon at his rented flat on the 4th floor of a building in Goran of the capital. Asha Moni, wife of the victim, filed a murder case against four unidentified persons with the Khilgaon Police Station on Friday night.
