Prof Sadeka Halim made acting dean

Professor of Sociology Department Dr Sadeka Halim has been appointed acting dean of Dhaka University (DU) Social Sciences Faculty, reports BSS.

“I will join as the acting dean of Social Sciences Faculty on September 30,” Prof Sadeka Halim told BSS yesterday evening when asked about her new assignment.

The appointment was given as per a decision taken at a DU syndicate meeting last night (Wednesday), DU Senate Member Professor ASM Maksud Kamal said.

Sadeka Halim is replacing incumbent acting dean Professor Abu Jafar Md Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan of Television, Film and Photography Department as his three-month tenure ends today.

Sadeka Halim will be in office until a regular dean is elected within the next three months.

Professor ASM Maksud Kamal also said that the Syndicate meeting formed two investigation committees to probe allegations against five teachers about falsifying in their research works.
