A schoolgirl was found dead at East Khajuria village in Senbagh upazila of the district yesterday. She has been identified as Sharmin Akther, 10, daughter of poor day labourer Abul Hashem, and a class-V student at Khajuria Primary School. Family members said they recovered her body hanging from the ceiling of the house yesterday morning. Sharmin had asked her mother for lunch on Wednesday afternoon on return from school. She also had engaged in heated exchange of words with her elder sister about the matter. Kasarpar Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Haque said Sharmin killed herself due to poverty.
