2 private hospitals fined

Two private hospitals in the district town were fined Tk 75,000 for gross irregularities on Wednesday night. The hospitals are Padma Hospital and Chandpur General Hospital located on Abdul Karin Patwary Road. A mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Kazi Mohammad Mohsin Ujjal,  conducted a  drive at  Chandpur General Hospital and  slapped a fine of Tk 40,000. The hospital was allegedly using time expired medicines and running the hospital without qualified doctors. The court has asked the hospital authorities to fulfill all the terms and conditions required to run the hospital. The mobile court also  conducted a drive at Padma Hospital at Biponi Bagh  area on the same road and fined it Tk 35,000. This hospital also had no qualified doctors and nurses. The mobile court was conducted by Civil Surgeon Office’s doctor Arjun Dhar.
