A science festival began at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre in the capital on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Russian state-run atomic energy corporation Rosatom arranged the festival titled ‘In Fact – 2017’.
The main goal of the festival is to raise awareness among the young generation in Bangladesh in the nuclear field and to promote science and technology.
The Inaugural Ceremony was addressed by Basher M Zahurul Islam, director general of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre, Alexander P. Demin, director of Russian Center of Science and Culture in Dhaka, Dr Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan and Engineer M Ali Zulquarnain, ex-chairmen of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Shafiqul Islam head of the department of Department of Nuclear Engineering of Dhaka University, Col Abu Zafor Mohammad Salahuddin, Dean of Nuclear Science & Biomedical Engineering of Military Institute of Science and Technology.
The festival will include various programmes like lecture sessions with the participation of Russian and Bangladeshi experts, demonstration of documentary films, interactive sessions, intellectual games and popular science talk shows.
The festival will continue at different venues till September 28.
