CHITTAGONG: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained four Myanmar citizens in possession of eight lakh contraband yaba tablets at the outer anchorage of Chittagong port yesterday morning, reports BSS.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Rab-7 halted a speedy fishing trawler beside Shah Porir Dwip and detained four Myanmar nationals as well as recovered eight lakh Yaba tablets after searching the trawler in the early hours of yesterday, Miftah Uddin Ahmed, commanding officer of RAB, told journalists.
A drug trafficking ring involving Myanmar and Bangladeshi citizens are smuggling yaba across the border under the cover of fishing business, said the RAB official.
