Student’s body recovered

Police recovered the body of a school student from Mankia Kodlarhat village under Benapole Port Police Station yesterday.
The deceased was Omar Faruk, 15, a student of class X of Kodlarhat Junior High School and son of Haider Ali, of Sarbanhuda village under the police station.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the slaughtered body from a crop field of the frontier village, said sub-inspector (SI) of the police station Fakir Taijul Islam.
Later, the body was sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
“We are conducting investigation into the matter,” the officer added.
Faruk went out from his house on Monday evening and did not return, family sources said.
Suu Kyi’s effigy burnt in Jessore

Agitators on Monday burnt a 30-foot high effigy of Myanmar’s de-facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi for carrying out genocide on Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine.
The effigy was burnt after forming a human chain at Jessore New Town Degree College ground under the banner of Citizens of Jessore at around11am.
Mobinul Islam Mobin, SM Yeakub Ali, Senior Journalist M.A.Mannan Mia and Tauhid Zaman, spoke during the human chain.
The speakers told that the world should come up with protest against the genocide in Myanmar against Rohingya Muslims.
‘Rohingya persecution must be stopped at any cost,’ they added.
Militant’s wife held in Jhenidah

District police arrested the wife of slain militant Abdullah from Mohishakundo area of the district town on Monday night.
The arrested was identified as Rubina Parveen, 25, hailed from Chuadanga village of Sadar upazila. She was a fugitive.
Officer-in-Charge of Jhenidah Sadar upazila Emdadul Haque Sheikh said on information they conducted a raid at a house in Mohishakundo area of the town and arrested Rubina Parveen. She was sent to jail by a court order, he added.
Abdullah was killed in an operation at Maheshpur hideout of the district on May 7 this year.

die from electrocution

Two people were electrocuted in Chandpur and Kishoreganj districts yesterday.
In Chandpur, a college student died after being electrocuted at Shahtoli village in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.The deceased was identified as Rakib Hossein, 18, an inhabitant of the village. He was a second-year student of a local college.
Local people said Rakib was electrocuted at Shahtoli Bazar yesterday afternoon while making copies from a photocopier at a shop.
Locals admitted him to Chandpur General Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
In Kishoreganj, a child labour was electrocuted in Austagram upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Jiban Mia, 12, son of Gias Uddin Mia of Bagpara village in Austagram sadar. Jiban Mia was a mason by profession.
Police and local sources said Jiban came in contact with a live electric wire while he was working on the roof of a three storied building in Austagram sadar bazar at 10:30am. Locals rushed him to Austagram upazila health complex in critical condition where on duty doctor declared him dead. Kamrul Islam Molla, officer-in-charge of Austagram police station confirmed the incident. No case was filed in this connection yet.
