Mohammad Rokonuzzaman Rukon, mayor of Sarishabari municipality in Jamalpur district and also Awami League leader, went missing on Monday night from the capital’s Uttara area, reports UNB.
Rukon’s elder brother Saiful Islam Tukon filed a general diary with Uttara West Police Station in this regard at night.
Abdur Razzak, inspector (investigation), said that Rukon, vice-president of Sarishabari Awami-League unit, went out from his rented house in Uttara for morning walk at 9:30 am and did not return.
Since then, he had remained missing.
His mobile phone was found switched off from afternoon, added the inspector.
