The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday arrested a businessman from the capital in connection with three graft cases, reports UNB.
ACC assistant director Gulshan Anwar arrested managing director of Chowdhury Towel Industries Limited Tanvir Chowdhury from the city's Central Road area, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
On February 6 last, the ACC filed three cases against him with Paltan Police Station for allegedly plundering over Tk 8.29 crore. According to the statement of a case, Chowdhury Towel Industries Limited in association with a fake company swindled the amount from Janata Bank's Ramna corporate branch by showing fake bill documents.
