Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said local and international quarters were hatching continuous conspiracies to assassinate Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina to counter her skyrocketing populariry. “An evil quarter has been hatching conspiracies against the PM at a time when the Sheikh Hasina government is taking steps to ensure the country's development. But their attempt to kill our leader will not be successful,” he added. Quader, who is also the minister for road transport and bridges, was talking to reporters after attending a relief distributing programme in Bandarban.
He said invisible conspiracies were being weaved around the PM. "We must remain united under Sheikh Hasina's leadership to fight the conspirators," he added. He praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's speech at the ongoing session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
“Her excellent speech has already created a global consensus on the Rohingya issue. I think Myanmar will have to take back the Rohingya refugees,” he said. The minister said that although world leaders admired the Premier's speech, the BNP was not happy with it. "BNP leaders aren't capable of getting the meaning of her speech," he added. Quader alleged that the BNP had been trying to fish in troubleds water during the ongoing the Ronhingya crisis. "But their evil attempt will not succeed," he added.
