Atrocities on Rohingyas protested in Khulna

KHULNA: Khulna City and District Unit 14 party alliances here on Saturday formed a human chain at the city's picture palace intersection protesting ongoing atrocities on the Rohingyas in Rakhine State of Myanmar, reports BSS.

Coordinator of 14 party alliance of Khulna and general secretary of city unit Awami League (AL) Mizanur Rahman Mizan, MP, presided over the programme while president of city unit AL and ex-mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, MP, addressed it as chief guest.

Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad and president of district unit of AL president Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, city unit JSD president Rafiqul Haque Khokon, district unit NAP president advocate Fazlur Rahman, central organizing secretary of JSD Khalid Hossain and central vice-chairman of JP (Monju) Shafiqul Hamid Chandan, spoke, among others.

The speakers urged the international community, global agencies and developed countries to continue pressure on the Myanmar government for taking back Rohingyas from Bangladesh.
