Memorial meeting on Prof Dwijen Sharma today

A memorial meeting on the late eminent botanist and science writer Prof Dwijen Sharma, organized by Bangla Academy, will be held at the academy in Dhaka today, reports UNB.

The academy is going to arrange the meeting with the collaboration with Sammilito Sanskritik Jot, Notre Dame Nature Study Club, Prakriti and Jibon Foundation, Bangladesh Bird Club, Kumudini Welfare Trust, Avijtri and Jatiyo Rabindra Sangeet Sommilan Parishad.

President of the Academy Professor Emeritus at the University of Dhaka Anisuzzaman will preside over the discussion session.

The dedicated nature researcher breathed his last at city's hospital on September 15.

He was given Bangla Academy Award in 1987 and Ekushey Padak in 2015 for his contributions to language and literature.
