Int'l workshop begins at BUET

A two-day workshop titled "International Conference of Disaster Risk Mitigation 2017" began yesterday at council bhaban on Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) campus here, reports BSS.

BUET-Japan Institute of Disaster Prevention and Urban Safety (BUET-JIDPUS) and Department of Civil Engineering jointly organized the workshop, said a BUET press release.

International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chief of Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) Professor Dr Gowher Rizvi addressed the inaugural function as the chief guest.

BUET Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Saiful Islam presided over the programme while University of Asia Pacific (UAP) VC Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury presented a keynote paper in the workshop.
