Leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) at a meeting yesterday laid emphasis on expanding international trade and commerce with India, Nepal and Bhutan, reports BSS.
To attain the goals, they suggested for turning Burimari and Banglabandha land ports into full-fledged international standard land ports like Benapole and removing tariff and non-tariff barriers on export of Bangladeshi goods to these neighbouring countries.
They came up with the opinion at the views-sharing meeting organised by RCCI at its board room for its members, exporters and importers with Deputy Secretary to the Ministry of Commerce Merajul Islam Ukil.
The meeting was arranged to bring dynamism in organisational activities of RCCI and discuss problems, issues and prevailing prospects of international trade, commerce, export and import activities in Rangpur region.
President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu presided over the meeting.
Directors of RCCI Ashraful Alam Al Amin, Azizul Islam Mintu, Reaz Shahid, Partho Bose, Shahjahan Babu, Habibur Rahman Raja, Pronoy Banik and Khemchand Rabi Somani, among others, spoke.
