Female prisoner dies at Kashimpur jail
A female prisoner of Kashimpur Women’s jail on died at a hospital Gazipur on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shukkuri Begum, 42, wife of Haider Ali of Gazir intersection area of Laksham upazila in Comilla district.
Shah Jahan Ahmed, senior superintendent of the jail, said Shukkuri, accused in a drug case, felt chest pain on Wednesday night.
Later, she was taken to Shaheed Taj Uddin Medical College and Hospital where she died on Thursday morning.
Police arrested her on September 8 in the case.

3 more Rohingyas admitted to CMCH
Three more Rohingya refugees were admitted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) on Wednesday night.
They are Najir Hossian, 50, Md Jakir, 28, both of them are residents of Akyab district of Myanmar and Md Hossian, 50, son of Mia Hossian, hailing from Mangadu of Myanmar.
Sub inspector Jahirul Islam, in charge of CMCH police outpost, said relatives admitted one of the three to the hospital with head injury and two others due to illness.

World Car Free Day today
The World Car Free Day 2017 will be observed in the country today like elsewhere in the world.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday issued separate messages on the eve of the day and wished the day’s programmes a success.
The day is a free international event celebrated on September 22, which formally started in the 70’s in Europe.
The day is being celebrated as a private day since 2006. For the first time, it was observed jointly by the government and non-government organizations in the last year.
Car Free Day is organised in various cities throughout the world in different ways, but with the common goal of reducing the number of cars on the streets. The benefits to society and the people are a day with less traffic congestion, a greener environment and reduced gasoline demand.

3 held with 500 yaba tablets
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)arrested three persons with 500 banned yaba tablets in Rajshahi on Wednesday night.
The arrested were identified as Liton Mridha, 28, Sohag Shah, 35, and Omor Ali, 34.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in Jamira area under Puthiya Upazila around 11.30pm and seized the contraband drugs along with a motorbike, five mobile phone sets, eight SIM-cards and Taka 3,455 in cash from their possessions.
The RAB team nabbed the three persons on charge of their involvement in yaba trading and trafficking.
A case was recorded with the police station concerned in this connection.
The seized goods were handed over to police.

Two killed in road accident
Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Chatuya Bazar area on Sylhet-Sunamganj road of the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim, 60, of Jawya Laxmansom area in the upazila and Abdul Haque, 35, son of Junab Ali, resident of Jamok village in the same upazila. In-charge of Jawya police camp (investigation) Nirmalendu Deb, said the accident occurred around 8pm in the area when a pickup van collided head on with a passenger bus from opposite direction, leaving two people dead on the spot and three others injured. The injured were admitted to local clinic, police said.
Police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent to Sunamganj Hospital for autopsy.
Police also seized the bus and pickup van from the spot.
