Titas Gas Transmission and distribution company Gazipur zonal office disconnected about 500 meters of illegal gas lines from 120 residences in Khailkur area of the city yesterday.
A team of Titas gas authorities conducted a raid in the area with the help of Gazipur district administration from morning to till evening. During the operation, a mobile court fined Tk 26,000 to six illegal gas users.
Manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Gazipur zonal office Engineer Sabber Ahmed said a number of illegal gas users of the area have been using gas after they connected lines with the help of some local influential without permission of the Titas. On secret information, a team of Gazipur Titas conducted an operation and disconnected all lines. During the operation, the team cut off the connections from 120 houses and seized 500 meters. They also seized a number of burners, risers and others materials using illegal connection. Later, a mobile team led by executive magistrate of Gazipur district administration Parsia Sultana Priyanka fined six users at Tk 26,000. They were identified as Sharifa , daughter of Hazi Shafikul Islam of Moddho Khailkur area (fined at tk 5000), Akram Hossain, son of Ataur Rahman (fined at tk 5000), Kamal Hossain, son of Nurul Islam (fined at tk 5000),Aleya, daughter of Abul Kashem (fined at tk 5000), Papiya, daughter Abdur Rouf Mollah (fined at tk 2000) and Khodeza Begum, wife of Mozibur Rahman (fined at tk 4000),all of same area.
General Manager of the Titas gas transmission and distribution company Gazipur zonal office Engineer SM Abdul Wadud, manager engineer Sabber Ahmed Chowdhury and engineer Jahangir Alam, deputy manager engineer Sabiul Awal, engineer Khurshed Alam, assistant engineer Mirza Mohammed Mamunur Rahman and Abu Ayub and sub-assistant engineer Mohammed Rezaul Haque were present during the mobile court.
