A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday between Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BRDB) to solve water-logging problem in the Dhaka-Narayanganj-Demra (DND) areas, reports BSS.
Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Senior Secretary of Water Resources Ministry Dr Zafor Ahmed, Brigadier General Iftekhar Anis and officials of different government organizations, among others, were present at the MoU signing function, an official release said.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held in the conference room of the Water Resources Ministry.
The Development of Water Reduction System project (second phase) has been undertaken by BRDB to remove serious water water-logging problem in the DND areas.
Nearly 20 lakh people of DND area will get rid of long-standing water-logging problem, after implementation of the project, the press release also said.
People in the DND areas have been suffering from water-logging for long.
