Five rice traders in Gazipur were fined at Tk 50,000 as they were not able to show the receipt and registrar book of their purchased rice stored in their shops as well as not display price list.
A mobile court conducted a raid at different rice trading shops in Bagherbazar area of the city and fined them on Thursday noon. Gazipur district marketing officer Abdus Salam said, a mobile court led by Gazipur sadar upazila nirbahi office (UNO) Mohammed Ashraf Uddin conducted the operation at the market.
The mobile court did not find any price list displayed in those traders’ shops. They failed to show the receipts and register books. Later, the mobile court fined Tk 10 thousand to each for violating the government’s order. The traders were identified as Mohammed Ali, owner of Hazi Store, Rakibul Hasan, owner of Maruf Store, Mohammed Raihan, owner of Raihan Store, Shawpon Chandra Ghosh, owner of Rajabari Store and Amanullah Aman, owner of Afzal Store.
