‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’:
The best of the five installments

Tom Cruise makes his way back into the limelight with another installment of ‘Mission: Impossible’. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is the fifth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchises. The movie was rather quietly promoted. Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the movie, has a mix bag of success and failure in his directing career. He is best known for directing hit films like ‘The Usual Suspects’, ‘Jack Reacher’ and making the worst film of 2010 ‘The Tourist’, which featured Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Although the movie’s name was used as comedy material in different award show but from the box office prospective it was a success. Now in Christopher McQuarrie’s latest offering many of the past cast members reunite and there are many new twists and turns in the story. The movie stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris and Alec Baldwin into the main roles.
The plot does present some new fresh ideas which previous installments didn’t have. The movie received a mixed bag of responses from the audiences and critics. For many this was the best Mission: Impossible ever made with completely new interesting storyline. For some the movie fails to live up to its expectation. On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation has a rating of 93 per cent, based on 211 reviews, with an average rating of 7.5/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation continues the franchise’s thrilling resurgence — and proves that Tom Cruise remains an action star without equal.” Metacritic gives the film a rating of 75 out of 100, based on 46 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews”.
Tom Cruise was excellent in portraying his role as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt; he only seems to be getting younger with time. Tom Cruise was recently found sharing his wish to work in a sequel of Top Gun. For his fans that’s exciting news. Other actors reappearing in their roles are a treat to watch. Movie buffs who love action spy movies with a little comedy on the side will find the movie quite intriguing.
