The first grand reunion of Hashil Higher Secondary School 2017 was held amid festivity and fanfare on the school premises at Deflibari in Jamalpur on September 3.
More than 700 participants from 2004 to 2017 batches attended the reunion. Former teachers were also present at the function. The presence of former students and teachers turned the occasion into an event of joy and happiness.
In the morning, the former students and teachers brought out a colourful rally, which ended at the school’s ‘Mukto Mancha’.
Inaugurating the function as chief guest, Russel Sabrin, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jamalpur, said: “Hashil Higher Secondary School is already considered as one of the best educational institutions of Jamalpur. Hopefully, the school will be the best in the country very soon. I convey my best wishes for the school and its uninterrupted success story.”
In his welcome speech, Mohammad Nurul Islam, president of the school, said: “I am very happy to see all the beautiful faces. I could not imagine that the school would be so big one day. My dream has come true. Students from 100 villages are studying here. I believe students from all over Bangladesh will come here to study in the future.”
Later, a reminiscence session, a cultural function and a raffle draw were held.
Fazlur Rahman of 2007 batch and Kamrul Islam of 2011 batch helped organise the reunion programme.
