KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) and Bangladesh National Museum jointly celebrated the closing ceremony of four-week long on-site workshop on “Conservation with Advanced Technique for Cultural Heritage (CATCH)” yesterday at Bangladesh National Museum, says a press release.
The certificate of this training was also handed over among the participants including private sector.
The Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Office Joe Hyun-Gue, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum Faizul Latif Chowdhury, high officials from Korea and National Museum and all the training participants were present in the ceremony.
One of the biggest foreign investors, Youngone Corporation also participated in the workshop to gather knowledge and create effective synergy along with public-private partnership.
They have been deeply involved in this sector. Very recently, Youngone has completed the “Baro Sardar Bari Restoration Project” with budget of more than Bangladesh Tk 10 crore.
The main purpose of CATCH project is to strengthen the capacity on museum collection display, management of conservation science laboratory by modern technology, and archaeological excavation techniques with US$ 1 million (Taka 8 crore).
