Experience Sharing Talk at ULAB

Ishita Sharmin Rayhan, an MSJ (Media Studies and Journalism) graduate from University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and winner of 2014 Swedish Institute Scholarship, gave a talk on her experience at a seminar recently held at ULAB Dhanmondi Campus in the capital.
ULAB Proctor and Associate Professor, Md. Assiuzzaman was present at the programme as a chief guest, while all students of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) were present, among others.
Professor Md. Assiuzzaman said, “We organise this kind of events on a regular basis to encourage existing ULAB students to apply for similar scholarships abroad. It gives them the opportunity to learn the application process and get tips from an ULABian.”
Winning the award, Ishita Sharmin Rayhan is now studying Masters in Media, Communication and Cultural Analysis at Sodertorn University, Stockholm, Sweden.
Ishita Sharmin Rayhan said, “I became very nostalgic while talking about my journey from ULAB to Sodertorn University, Sweden by remembering my involvements with Campus Radio, ULAB Radio Campbuzz, Media Club, Film Club, Debate Club etc. I advised the students to involve themselves with social works, cultural activities.”
“I felt the passion among students while they were asking questions  about how to make themselves able to get a world´s biggest scholarships like Swedish Study Scholarship. I suggested them to stay focus on life and think positive. I have discussed the importance of good grades, good IELTS score, and leadership rules in clubs or youth based organisations to achieve scholarships abroad”, she added.
The scholarship covers full tuition fee, accommodation and other daily expenses with life insurance.
