Thrree killed in Nilphamari road accident

Nilphamari: At least three people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident at Dholagachha on Dinajpur-Rangpur Highway in Saidpur upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Aslam 32, Sohag, 30, Mamun, 32, driver of a truck.

Amirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Saidpur Police Station, said a Dinajpur-bound truck collided head-on with another truck coming from opposite direction and fell into a roadside ditch around 5:30 am, leaving three people dead on the spot and injured eight others.

Of the injured, two were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in a critical condition while the rest of them were undergoing treatment at Saidpur 50-bed Hospital.

On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies.

The bodies will be sent to Nilphamari Hospital morgue around 10:00 am, the OC added.
