Man ‘kills father’ in Jessore

An elderly man was killed allegedly by his son at Banshbaria village in Keshabpur upazila of Jessore on Sunday.

SM Anwar Hossain, officer in-charge of Keshabpur Police Station, said Abdus Salam, 32, had a brawl with his father Nawab Ali, 70 in the morning in a field adjacent to their house. At one stage, Salam hit his father with a heavy stick in his head, leaving him critically injured.

Nawab later died on the way to hospital.

Anwar fled the scene right after the incident, the OC said further.
