Ruplali Bank, Kalabagan win in women’s cricket

Reigning champions Rupali Bank Krira Parishad trounced newly-entrant Hillol Jubo Sangha by comprehensive 10 wickets in the opening day match of the Dhaka Women’s Premier Division Cricket League at the BKSP-3 in Savar yesterday.
At BKSP-4, Kalabagan Krira Chakra beat Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by six wickets by DLS method in the rain-affected match.

Hillol Jubo Sangha opted to bat first after winning toss and folded for a paltry 70 in the face of the devastating bowling assault of Rumana Ahmed and Sathira Jakir. The duo took the bulk of the wickets. Player-of-the match Rumana conceded six runs to take five wickets in 7.2 overs. Sathira claimed three wickets, giving away 15 runs in seven overs.
In reply, Rupali Bank Krira Parishad run down the measly target with no loss. Opener Sanjida Islam cracked 50 off 38 with eight fours and a six, while Ayesha Rahman was on 16 not out.
Kalabagan vs Khelaghar
Put in to bat first, Kalabagan Krira Chakra compiled 126 in 49.2 overs with Panna Ghosh topscoring 26 and Sultana Yesmin making 26. Ritu Moni took three and Ferdousi claimed two wickets for Khelaghar.

The heavyweight Abahani Limited will compete against Gulshan Youth Club at the BKSP-4, while Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) will vie against Indira Road Krira Chakra at the BKSP-3 to embark on their campaigns in Savar today.
