Stocks performed mixed yesterday with major indices finishing flat despite increasing the daily transactions, which rose at the market that prevented price indices from sharp decline, reports BSS.
The trade value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased to Tk 1,525.89 crore from Sunday’s Tk 1208.03 crore and the trade volume was up to 52.93 crore from 39.56 crore shares of the last session.
The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 4.63 points down at 6,235.94. But the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 9.13 points down at 2,217.49 and with 11.19 point down at 1,380.40.
At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 101 securities closed higher against 190 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Safko Spinning, Regent Textile, Rupali Bank, Standard Bank and NBL.
The major losing issues were Progressive Life, Standard Ceramic, Shasha Denim, NHFIL and Monno Ceramics.
NBL topped the turnover list followed by First Security Bank, Al Arafah Bank, Prime Bank and Lanka Bangla Finance.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with slightly up with its major CASPI 15.68 points up at 19,381.66.
At CSE, issues traded 267 issues. Of those, 95 closed higher and 146 closed lower when 2.87 crore shares worth Tk 68.40 crore changed hands.
